A day exploring the Korčula archipelago

For a perfect day on the sea, go onboard a private speed boat or yacht for a day of relaxation and adventure as you visit the most interesting small islets of Stupe, Vrnik and Badija in Korčula arhipelago.

Each of the islands offer beautiful soft pebble beaches, swimming, snorkeling, and a bit of culture and history, along with relaxation. You will also find options for dining and refreshing beverages; your Tasteful Croatian Journeys team will happily offer suggestions and arrange reservations based on your preferences.

Badija, the largest of the three islands, is home to a Gothic-Renaissance Franciscan monastery dating from the fifteenth century. Visitors can walk the whole island, through forests of pristine natural beauty. You may spot some of the friendly deer that inhabit the island.

Vrnik is a tiny island, the only inhabited island in the archipelago. A popular destination for locals, Vrnik has many secluded beaches to swim in the clear blue water or sit under the shade of one of the fragrant pine trees the line the eastern side of the island. Famous for its stone quarries, some dating back to Roman times, Vrnik stones were used to build the US Capital building. In front of one of the quarries on the northern coast, the church of Our Lady of Succours dates to 1674. Your Tasteful Croatian Journeys team can arrange for your guide to share more on the history and culture of the island.

Vrnik Arts Restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine in near a small pebbly beach where you can enjoy your meal and afterwards relax on the beach, swimming, snorkeling and relaxing on the sunbeds.

The smallest of the archipelago islands is Stupe, at only ½ km in length. Yet on this little island you can enjoy the chic restaurant and beach bar Moro Stupe. The menu here changes daily, based on fresh ingredients and the local fisherman’s catch. They serve up an excellent choice of cocktails. Loungers and sunbeds can be rented for a day of relaxation and fun in the sun. The entire complex of More Stupe is built to be self-sustaining and eco-friendly, with solar panels for electricity and sea water desalination. The design of the restaurant and terrace is carefully decorated in white and blue color, with the wooden elements made from hundred-year-old Slavonian oak. The beautiful, thoughtful details have become an Instagram favorite for visitors.
