‘Protocol‘ by Vitar Drinković is an AR installation, which now sees its premiere. The instructions on the activation of the work with a personal mobile device have been set up on the floor of park’s centre, written in Croatian, English, Russian, and Chinese. The choice of languages is conditioned twofold: they are intended for domestic and international tourists who came to Korčula on vacation, but these languages are also used by nations with the largest number of nuclear weapons.
With the activation of AR technology, urban public space is transformed into a virtual launchpad for a a large rocket of unknown origin and content, with estranged mechanical movement. The leisure of a vacation is placed in direct contact with a sense of uncertainty regarding the use of nuclear weapons and the unceasing and numerous wars in the world.
