Plitvice Lakes National Park

Plitvice Lakes has long been one of Croatia’s most popular tourist attractions for its gorgeous natural beauty.

The Plitvice Lakes National Park opened in 1929 and was granted UNESCO World Heritage status in 1979. Located roughly halfway between the Croatian capital of Zagreb to the east and Zadar on the coast.

Plitvice Lakes National Park consists of 16 crystal emerald-blue lakes and streams connected by a series of more than 90 waterfalls set amid tall cliffs. The wooded forest of beech, fir and pine trees surrounding the park is home to deer, bears, wolves, boar and rare bird species. The park provides wonderful opportunities for photography, hiking, cycling and other activities. Even a brief visit allows for breathtaking views and numerous sighting points. Visitors will enjoy leisurely walking the wooden planked walkways, and gentle trails. Take a moment to savor the beauty, and relax.

As with any popular destination, making the most of your experience is about going at the right time, with the right access. Your team at Tasteful Croatian Journeys will guide you to assure your visit to the Park is wonderful.
