Welcome to Villa Stanzia Vinella, an elegant ancient farmhouse estate in stunning Istria!

This one of a kind farmhouse dates from 1614. With 60,000 square meters of property covered by olive groves, vineyards, woods, and its own organic vegetable garden, the estate offers complete privacy and absolutely stunning  views on the picturesque fortress town of Motovun.

Completely restored in 2020 with great respect for the property’s history, the secluded villa evokes an ambience of rustic elegance. The carefully selected antique décor and furnishings, the rooms illuminated under lights sourced from around the world, create a natural warmth, for a comfortably atmosphere.

The restoration included many thoughtful eco-conscious selections. The main house was restored with the finest reclaimed stone, antique oak beams, and environmentally friendly lime-based paints. The villa is powered by solar panels, air heat pumps and energy efficient insulation to enhance the ancient home with clean and modern updates.

The Villa features 4 spacious bedrooms with luxurious ensuite baths. The master bedroom  features en-suite bathroom with copper bath, large walk in shower, and private stairs leading to the garden and pool.

The large open floorplan kitchen and dining area are a chefs dream. The large living room with gorgeous exposed wood beams and fireplace welcome guests to gather. The library invite relaxation. the wine room is available for guests, as Istria is home to some of the finest wines in Croatia. 

Wide stairs lead to the separate studio apartment, with ensuite bath and kitchenette.

The saltwater infinity pool beckons, with breathtaking views on Motovun and the complete Mirna valley. The  terraces are outfitted with loungers, and outdoor sofas. The large shaded terrace is a perfect location for dining al fresco, with fully equipped summer kitchen and outdoor grille, and dining for 10, overlooking the lights of Motovun.

Accommodation at Stanzia Vinella includes weekly cleaning, pool maintenance and concierge for restaurant/boat/wine tasting bookings, as well as private chef (available on request).  The home is air conditioned and features heated flooring throughout. The villa features a washer and dryer, TV’s in each room, 

Location

One of the largest private rural estates in Istria the farmhouse is located on a hill in the middle of a bucolic dream landscape touted by the international press as “The new Tuscany”. Completely secluded, yet only  3 minutes away from the hilltop town Motovun. Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and truffle woods. A 500m long white road leads to the house, suitable for normal cars, but not recommended for sports cars.

 The coast is only 20 minutes drive. Many gourmet truffle or local gourmet game restaurants nearby. The area is abundant in excellent agritourism options for all palettes. Award winning wine and oil producers are within a 10 minutes’ drive.

Enjoy the stunning outdoors with the many cycling and hiking trails of Istria, or follow the expert truffle hunting dogs in the nearby woods.
