Andrea and Howard Petroff

We had the most wonderful trip to Venice and Croatia in July. As a result of a few conversations with Wanda, she was able to craft an itinerary that was tailored to our interests and exceeded our expectations. From the personable and friendly private tour guide and driver, to the special boutique hotels/palaces in the Istria region, every detail and travel coordination was taken care of for us to make this an unforgettable trip. A highlight was the Lesic Dimitri Palace on the island of Korcula. The stone palace has an ultramodern and luxurious interior and 6 unique rooms—really like apartments in size. The India Room where we stayed had the most amazing private outdoor deck area separated from the street by a three-story stone wall. Another highlight was the half-day private sailing trip organized on the hotel’s own sailing boat with a skipper. We sailed around the various islands surrounding Korcula while the Skipper caught five fish that were prepared for dinner for us later that night by the hotel’s chef.

…On Croatia’s Istrian peninsula, for instance, you can base yourself at a working vineyard, indulge in ice cream topped with shaved truffles, meet with local winemakers, and learn how to properly taste olive oil—with the help of bespoke tour operator Tasteful Croatian Journeys. Travel companies can be instrumental in getting you insider access, but the right attitude toward the new and unknown is at least as important. Just bring your camera…Read More

Kvarner još daleko od turistickog brenda

January 6, 2011

The Queen of Croatia

June 30, 2015

…Okay, Croatia does not have a monarch. But if it did, Wanda Radetti would surely be the Queen of Croatia travel. So let’s back up. As it turns out, Wanda, who like Lidia was born in Istria, a heart-shaped peninsula in northern Croatia. And like Lidia grew up in Northern Italy, where she and Lidia met and have been great friends since they were ten years old. And the last time our tomato friend was at Felidia’s she met Wanda, an expert on traveling to Croatia, which is high on The Three Tomatoes list of places we want to visit. So, over dessert we met the absolutely lovely Wanda, who is one of those European women we are always in awe of — stylish, well put together, timeless and charming…Read More

Etiquette 101: Croatia – In the Home

May 8, 2008

It’s important never to say yes the first time you’re offered something—whether it’s an offer to treat for dinner or a gift or food (unless, of course, you’re already seated at the table and the plate’s going around, in which case you should pass it to women and older guests first). Such demurrals used to go back and forth for quite a while, but these days, says Croatia travel specialist Wanda Radetti, of Tasteful Croatian Journeys, “people don’t have as much time, which means you can say yes the second time”…Read More

We heard from our clients who were extremely happy with all the arrangements we made for them. The trip would not have been a success without your help. We have already told all my associates at the office that if they need help with deluxe arrangements in Croatia, Montenegro and Slovenia, you are the queen.
